Today is the last day of the year which also means it’s the last of the postaday2011 posts, and I thought what better way to Mark this occasion than summing up the year month by month. Continue reading

I have no idea what to write about….if I was in Samoa I wouldn’t be having this problem.
If I was them I would have done it just before Christmas.
It’s a bit of an odd thing to do, but if it makes life easier for them then all the better.
It’s a bit if an anticlimax for the penultimate post of the year, I agree, but hopefully tomorrow will be much more exciting.
These past few days I have found myself staying up quite late reading this book. Last night I didn’t get to bed until twenty past one and even then wanted to carry on reading. But why is this?
Well the answer is simply that it is effortlessly beautiful while at the same time conveying the occasional ugliness of life. Emma Morely is ambitious, bright, full of potential but lacks any of the confidence needed to fulfil it. Dexter Mayhew is cocky, arrogant, exceedingly charming and on occasion sweet. Continue reading
Do you know what? The Kinect is fun.
As a bit of a game geek I’ve ha my eye on the Kinect since it first came out. It gives to you what the Eyetoy and the Wii couldn’t offer, a full in game experience. Don’t get me wrong I had a lot of fun with Eyeto when it first came out, it was brilliant and I absolutely love the Wii, Nintendo outdid themselves there.
But I come to you now fresh from setting two world records, one for the 100m sprint and another for the long jump…of course I’d have no chace of doing that in the real world but it’s still nice to say.
Perhaps one of the best features is the fact that it slyly photographs and films you while you’re playing the games and you’re rewarded afterwards with little snippets of the ridiculous poses you pull throughout.
It was definitely worth the wait, I’m about to nip back for some more…it might be a little addictive…
I bought my mum the complete box set of Absolutely Fabulous for her birthday this year, and I’m so glad I did…if for purely selfish reasons.
I’ve always known that it was a cult comedy and before yesterday I had seen only a few episodes. I’ve always be a fan of Jennifer Saunders, I mean her French and Saunders stuff is amazing, especially when they’re making fun of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and of course she makes for an amazing fairy godmother in Shrek and potential mother-in-law for Ross in Friends. I do hope all of you had a fantastic Christmas. Today I decided, after looking at Blogs-Of-A-Bookaholic, that I’m going to take part in the Rory Gilmore Book Challenge. As a fan of the Gilmore Girls it immediately caught my eye and after reading through the blog post I became convinced to take part. Although, I’m not sure how to keep you updated, I might make a page and cross titles out as I read them, I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
I’ve always wanted to read the classics but I’ve never really managed to get round to it and this gives me the perfect incentive as quite a few appear on the list.
I have no idea how long the challenge will take but I look forward to seeing my bookcase gradually fill up with these great names and it also gives me an excuse to buy all those nicely bound books that have turned up in Waterstone’s (I was given the collected works of Oscar Wilde for Christmas)
So you can look forward to seeing Jane Austin and Edgar Allen Poe turning up in the monthly Any One Book.
Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope none of you are stressing out about tomorrow. I’m sure it’ll be a great day, even if there are no more chocolates left in your advent calender.
As I’m writing this Santa has jumped from Turkey to Cyprus to Israel (according to NORAD Santa Tracker).
Anyway, I’m really struggling to think of anything to say other than the season finale of Merlin was pretty much awesome and I can’t wait for the next one!
There are two sleeps left until Christmas but on this day the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, finds himself in hospital. Earlier today he suffered chest pains and having turned 90 in June has said it is ‘better safe than sorry.’
The Duke will be undergoing ‘precautionary tests’ and at the moment there’s a chance that he might have to stay the night at the hospital. Continue reading
