Happy Casual Vacancy Day

Yes, it’s finally here!

Five years after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J.K. Rowling will be launching a new book.

But it’s not just any book, it’s one that’s so far from Potter that it’s almost unbelievable it’s by the same author.

Over the past few days more details have been revealed. It’s not a fantasy or anything supernatural, it’s not a crime, mystery or thriller novel. In fact it’s hard to say exactly what it is. Rowling herself said that if it was to be summed up in a question it would be ‘what do we do with Krystal?’ yet what we do know is that this is NOT a book for children. Continue reading

WeekendNotes

Heya guys! I know I’ve been sort of quite lately, but I’ve been sort of busy with this and that (this being job searching and that being writing my book).

However, amidst the this and that I have started writing for WeekendNotes and I review a few things in London for them (at my own discretion). I don’t live in London, but I go there a lot and figured that I’d have a lot to write anyway.

So you can read what I have if you want, you can find it here. My first article published was one which I included in my Major Project so expect it to be full of Harry Potter goodness! I would also be incredibly grateful if you could subscribe to my articles on there as well. Please…..with  cherry on top.

Anyway I have a few blogs that I want to write so hopefully I won’t be quiet for much longer!

The Casual Occupancy

Okay, so on 27 September not only does The Casual Vacancy, by the one and only J.K. Rowling, come out but she’s also doing an event on the evening of the same day.

Rowling will be appearing at the Southbank centre in London at 19.30 during which time she will be reading from The Casual Vacancy, talking with BBC journalist Mark Lawson, taking questions from the audience and then doing a book signing. Continue reading

Ah, it’s the 31st July, do you know what that means?

It’s one year since the first Magical Quill challenge of Pottermore.

Harry Potter’s 32nd birthday.

But most importantly it is J.K Rowling’s 47th birthday. Today most people think of Harry, he’s pretty much synonymous with this date, but without J.K Rowling he would not exist. So it’s important to remember her too. Continue reading

A Fond Farewell to the Women of the Otherworld Personal Demon Review

Personal Demon sees Hope adams, the chaos-demon who worked with Jaime in the previous novel, basking in her own adventure. She’s a tabloid journalist (luckily being in Miami she’s not going to be called to the Leveson Inquiry anytime soon) who struggles with her fondness for chaos….although that might be the demon part of her.

It’s a hit she needs like a drug addict needs crack yet she’s determined to use her twisted powers for good. Most of the time she helps out the interracial council (the council made of different supernatural leaders in order to keep everyone in order), but when Benicio Cortez (Lucas’ mischievous father) dangles a juicy chaos-tasting morsel in front of her she cannot resist. A Word From the Minister

Late last night I was given my overall results for my degree, which means I can give to you that Robert Hardy interview I’ve been promising for a while.

He was absolutely brilliant, such an interesting man with a lot to say and I will be forever grateful that an acting star such as himself took the time out of his day to help a journalism student with their work.

A fair warning though, it’s a bit long.

Anyway, without further ado here it is: Continue reading

Yesterday was my birthday.

Ok, that’s a lie. You probably know exactly where.

A Few Results Here and There

It’s July!

And in true English fashion it’s absolutely tipping it down outside. But I don’t care about it being here as long as it doesn’t interrupt Wimbledon. Which is kind of weird because three years ago I couldn’t stand tennis and now I’m a little gutted that the final is on my birthday and I’m going to miss it! Ah well, at least I’m doing something much more fun than sitting around watching people batting the ball back and forth. Continue reading

Question Thingy

The other day Becky tagged me to answer an eclectic set of questions and now is the first chance I’ve had to answer them. I have to say, it was kinda fun!

  3. Create eleven new questions to ask eleven new participants.
  4. Tag those people and share links to their blogs in your post.
