Any One Book 11

Yes, it’s that time again. I’m sure you all look forward to it as much as I do! It’s time to delve into my pile of books and decide which one gets the spotlight this month.

Since last month my bookcase has welcomed a good few books, because I made the fateful discovery that car boot sales are a really good place to get really cheap books. *Cough* 14 books for under ยฃ5 *cough*.

Anyway, despite having more choice I decided to go with a book I’ve had waiting for a good few months. It was recommended to me by fellow book blogger Becky, over at Blogs-Of-A-Bookaholic.

It’s called Elsewhereย by Gabrielle Zevin, and it follows Liz Hall, who is on the cusp of 16, as she lives her afterlife. You see, Liz was the victim of a road accident and at one moment was meeting up with a friend and the next she was waking up on the S.S Nile.

From what I can gather from the blurb (and the little bit I’ve already read) Elsewhere is a place where anything can happen but it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be. it’s a place where people age backwards before they return to Earth.

I’m not going to go into much detail about it (mainly because I’m tired and I fear I may not do the premise justice), but needless to say it sounds like it’ll be a good read!

As always you are welcome to read along and discuss the novel once we’ve finished it!

Woop woop, so glad you decided to pick it up, I hope you enjoy it! If not – sorry in advance :S I remember it being really thought provoking but I did read it quite a few years back now so it’s a bit blurry.

14 books for under ยฃ5, that’s awesome! You can find some real gems in those places. So as a bookworm, I gotta ask – what books did you get!?!?! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (if there’s too many just name the best)

P.S. I TOTALLY look forward to it as much as you do. ๐Ÿ˜›

It seems quite good so far. I have Noughts and Crosses too!

Ha, totally! I went back the week after and got 8 for about ยฃ3 as well haha! Erm, I bought the Green Mile, Three Musketeers and another Wilbur Smith book which is part of the same series as River God and then last week I got Interview With a Vampire, Jayne Eyre and I really can’t remember any more haha! But it was definitely a good haul!

      Awesome! Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚
