David Walliams, the comedian who swam the English Channel in 2006 and the Strait of Gibraltar in 2008, took part in team of celebrities who cycled the length of Britain in 2010 and also took part in 24 Hour Panel People where he recorded back to back plenty of different panel shows earlier this year.
Now, I think it’s fair to say he is one generous man. He’s always doing something for charity and his latest stint is just as unpleasant.
He’s swimming the river Thames from Gloucestershire to Big Ben. Not only that but he’s aiming to do it in just eight days, I think he might be on day four now.
The Thames is murky and obviously polluted and if anybody out their envied what Walliams is doing right now I’d call them odd.
unfortunately, because of the uncleanliness of the river things aren’t going Walliams’ way. He’s come down with what he’s called the ‘Thames Tummy’. He’s suffering from a horrific case of vomiting and diarrhea.
It’s stopping him from fully being able to replenish his energy because he keeps being sick and let’s face it if you’re going to be undertaking a task like this you need all the energy you can get.
This hasn’t stopped him though. He’s still going despite the illness and despite the fact that he’s struggling a lot more than he was before.
I do admire Walliams for his charity work and I can’t believe he’s still going with this task. I wish you all the best and I hope you get to Big Ben within the eight days.
