Radioactive by Marina and the Diamonds has the pleasure to be the very first post in this blog which covers just about anything. Although it is debatable whether it could really be called an honour.
Anyway, today Marina Diamandis unveiled the video for new song Radioactive which is taken from what I assume to be a new album that I have yet to discover the title of.
The song itself has more of a dance focus than any of her other singles, in fact it’s more ‘dancey’ than her entire debut album ‘The Family Jewels’. Of course this doesn’t take away from the general brilliance that is Marina and the Diamonds, she remains a great as ever and seems to be exploring her musical capabilities rather than sticking with what she knows she can do, which should be applauded.
As for the video itself, I’ve never really been one to understand them all that much, you’ll find Diamandis prancing about in a blonde wig, sometimes armed with a chainsaw and sometimes wearing a frog mask. But with this taster I’m confident her second album is going to live up to her debut.
